When Hurricane Helen swept through the area, one homeowner found himself facing an unexpected challenge: several inches of water had made their way into his garage and finished basement. The flooding not only disrupted his space but it also created the perfect conditions for black mold to develop behind the water damaged drywall.

The Hidden Consequences of Water Damage

In the days following the storm, the homeowner quickly called in a mold remediation company. They performed a full demo of the affected areas and thoroughly treated the mold issues. Once their job was done, it was time for the next step: rebuilding.

That’s where we came in.

Precision Work, Clean Environment

We received the call and wasted no time getting started. Our first priority was protecting the homeowner’s belongings. We carefully covered all items with plastic to keep them safe from dust and debris during the repair process.

The restoration crew had removed two feet of drywall throughout both the garage and basement, leaving a clean but raw space behind. Our team began by hanging fresh drywall, ensuring seamless integration with the existing structure.

Seamless Finish and Professional Touch

With the drywall in place, we applied multiple coats of joint compound, allowing adequate drying time between each layer. Patience and attention to detail paid off we achieved a flawless finish that matched the original look.

Once the surfaces were smooth and ready, we primed and painted the entire area. The result? A garage and basement that looked as if the damage had never occurred.
